Fort Lauderdale’s Broward Convention Center (BCCC) is expanding from an already impressive venue to one that’s sure to attract a wide variety of trade shows, conferences, and meetings. Steps away from the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, this venue has always drawn local events—but the renovation project will draw even more exhibitors and attendees thanks to increased space, enhanced beauty, and state of the art technology.

Capacity

The expansion project, which is scheduled to be completed in 2025, will include a multitude of meeting-focused amenities, including:

  • 1.2 million square feet of exhibit space
  • 350,000 contiguous square feet of exhibit space
  • 65,000 square foot waterfront ballroom
  • Over 525,000 square feet of meeting space
  • 800-room onsite hotel

Additionally, the expansion will add an outdoor event plaza for attendees to enjoy the fresh Fort Lauderdale air.

History

Since it opened in 1991, the Broward County Convention Center was originally a 600,000 square foot facility. The venue has brought events like the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, local and international sporting events, and even concerts to Florida’s east coast. Thanks to the expansion project, Broward County is sure to see even more trade shows and conferences in the near future.

Onsite & Nearby Amenities

The BCCC is located blocks away from gorgeous waterfront hotels, including the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina and the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Marine Hotel. While some exhibitors and attendees might choose to enjoy the onsite five-star dining, others may choose to explore the city’s award-winning restaurants—several of which are within walking distance of the venue. Additionally, the BCCC’s Catch The Wave program offers electronic shuttle transportation to ADA guests for easy transportation between the parking garage and the convention center.
